Don't compete

You try your best to "mom hard". you see Pinterest, other people's social media feeds, you look impressive, but what really are you doing? Competing, making EVERYTHING more difficult for both you and I. Why? Because I am not your competition, I am not leveling up with you, I am not keeping up with you but you are trying to out do every single person without regards to the little souls you have created. Not everything is supposed to be perfect, sometimes life is messy, sometimes life is hectic don't add all that pressure on yourself by comparing and competing with everyone.. you do you, but make sure you take into account the young soul you are molding, shaping and creating... know it's alright to fail, it's alright to make mistakes, it's alright to have accidents.. fail forward... please be friends with other women, mothers, ladies, girls, sisters, soul sisters ect.. I'm tired super tired of seeing everyone compete. I never try to compete cause someone else's dream isn't mine.. I like my path, I am blessed and will continue to be blessed.

Don't compare, magnify other people's strengths...

Negative

If you wake up in the morning, hurting your soul... then you will not grow... do not compare yourself to others.. do not listen to what hurtful rude people have to say... and do not dwell in their words... let yourself have the last bold statement and leave.... leave everyone behind... leave everyone behind... leave their thoughts behind... leave their negative vibe behind

Realization

When your roommate gets upset and says "they have been gone from the house for over 8 hours, and you haven't even moved your truck. I figured you would have went somewhere at some point during the day..." and my answer is "where do you want me to go?" The realization, I've never felt so alone in this entire world. As I said that statement I started crying cause I'm a kind quite generous, caring hard working super loving independent woman and friend, but I don't have any friends near me. I have my best friends which are my parents, my "souls sisters" and my "lost boys", but where I am currently I don't have any friends. I don't have anyone asking if I want to hang out, do something, come over or chill. I don't have anyone asking what I've been up to, how life's treating me, or how I am doing? I don't have one soul like that...so when someone expects me to leave my house to go hang out with someone I don't have, it's like realization our society is horrible...

Be the woman or man you wish to be. Sometimes that road gets lonely but it'll be worth it in the end.

Stevie Nicks

Failure... I'm so thrilled she failed, I'm so excited she experienced all the moments that created the strong beautiful and courageous Stevie Nicks. She dropped out of San Jose State University just before graduation, so her and friend Lindsey Buckingham could pursue their music career in L.A. After being signed to a recording contract they created Buckingham Nicks but the Label quickly dropped the duo. Nicks was 27 when she felt her dreams slipping from her hands. She turned those emotions into the song "Landslide" which is well known today.
Stevie Nicks contemplated going back to College, when Lindsey Buckingham got a call from Mick Fleetwood asking if Buckingham would join his Band Fleetwood Mac. Lindsey said he would not join the band without Stevie they came as a pair or not at all. Fleetwood Mac already had a female singer in the band but they reluctantly agreed to take both Buckingham and Nicks. Imagine joining a band that technically didn't want you, so many emotions specially after just loosing your record deal. The first album Stevie and Lindsey joined Fleetwood Mac on was the "Rumors" album. Which sky rocketed the group to instant fame within six months.

Can you imagine what would of happend if Stevie Nicks would have given up along the way? I believe passion is a huge driving force behind determination. I believe in failing forward and learning lessons through each trial and tribulation. I believe in strong encouraging women and I admire them for there guts and grace! Thank you Stevie Nicks for inspiring me to be myself. Thank you Mama for introducing me to good music, Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Nicks, Micheal Jackson, Prince and so many more. All awe inspiring, thank you for chasing your dreams, knowing no limits and failing forward.

Persepctive

Perspective is different for each person. It is how we were and are raised to view life, our influences and our role models.

Remember Albert Einstein didn't speak until 3 years of age and was labeled stupid, and crazy...but was a mad genius.
Know J.K. Rowling was turned down by 12 publishers saying her "Harry Potter" book was "worthless, not what people will buy"
Stevie Nicks lost her recording deal at 27, wrote landslide out of the emotions and WAS NOT invited to be a part of Fleetwood Mac, Lindsey Buckingham just wouldn't join the band with out Stevie.
Janis Joplin was voted "the most handsome man in school", and let her ridicule lead her to the edge of creativity.
Lucille Ball was "not cut out for the big screen" then she landed a radio gig where she crafted "Lucie denzmen" and then the writers turned it into the "I Love Lucie Show"
Woody Guthrie was an American Folk singer people didn't want his kind around when he was just the poor "Okie" trying to make a living but damn they sure couldn't get enough of him when he was singing about the Dust Bowl, The Nation, The injustice in The United States.
Elvis... "No you can't sing like that and you can't dance like that" thank God he was influenced enough to sing and dance however he wished.

Even I am afraid. Even I get ridiculed on the daily. Now question does it hurt more come from a friend or family member or a stranger. Answer it can hurt the same, depends on how much stock or weight you validate the person's opinion with, but now please also keep in mind that person's perspective or lack there of.

Working on a series

So I'm finding it easier to write more books the more that I write them. They say practice makes perfect and I was researching chilrdens books for a while but then I started rereading my choice of books again which is history and woman empowerment books. I love finding different words and adjectives and phrases, so it's kind of like I'm falling in love with writing all over again. For the longest time I had the idea of just writing one Cali the Carny book just one and then it kind of struck me that you could turn it into a book series, because there is lot of different little events and fun things that happen on the carnival that can be seen through a child's point of view. Completely changed my whole entire outlook on this project as soon as I started researching for publishing I realized that I could really do this which is a little bit terrifying but also you have to think "I am fearless and I know no limits". I tell myself often it's OK to chase your dreams because "it happens all the time". Through a 3 year process my dream has changed and evolved and I can't wait to try and achieve it. I already know it's going to be a lot a hard work but I feel like if I surround myself with the right team it can happen your dream can be achieved and accomplished. I've always been told that "teamwork makes the dream work" and I believe that your "vibe attracts your tribe".

Corning Rolling Hills Casino "Native American of North America Museum"

Dear Rolling Hills Casino, I'm not sure who to write and who to suggest this too. But I drive by your casino all the time most of my family lives in sac or the bay, they in turn also drive past your casino to vacation in Shasta during the summer. I know your casino draws plenty of patrons already but I was hoping to persuade you with a creative  idea, maybe building a "Native Americans of North America Museum" near your casino. I personally volunteer with the Shasta Lake Heritage and Historical Society, where we are building and designing a new museum for our small town of Shasta Lake north of Redding. While I'm learning all about the history of California I get drawn into the Native Americans and their legends, more than the white settlers and there exploit of the land for riches. One thing I think would be amazing along the I-5 corridor of the west is a museum that speaks of all the Native Americans, their way of life, their traditions and legends, their origin and demise. I personally love history and love researching about the Sisk, Pomo, Navajo, Lakota, Iroquois, ANASAZI, MOUND BUILDERS, Aztecs "who's legends say they lived in small caves under a big mountain they call mother nature and their were fish and fowl around of the plenty", meanwhile in native legends of the Pomo their first contact was with small people who lived in caves from Mt. Konocti during the ice age, while the Sacramento Canyon Indians also have legends of little people living in caves".
I believe your casino could build something completely unique to the west coast and the United States, if you brought all the Indiginous people's legends and lives together I believe people would be left with a profound understanding of North America before it was proclaimed the United States. Please look into the Anasazi cliff dwellings and mound builders of the East coast, there is a lot to North American History that has yet to be shared and focused on. Thank you for taking the time to read this message I hope this idea can be placed into the right hands, I hope in the future I will get to stop at a Musuem about North American Cultures, and share it with my friends and family...think turtle bay but better... think the Tillamook air museum, big and bold you have a story to tell, pass down your history and legends in an unforgettable way! Please and thank you! Sincerely Kayle Jo.

(This is the letter I wrote to the corning casino, so far no one has written me back but this is just the first letter, I will keep writing till I either get a "no, I'm sorry we Can't do that" or a "yes we need to create a museum to past down or own heritage". I am a fan of history and I believe that there is still a lot of learn about North America.)

In my spare time

One of my favorite hobbies is volunteering at our local historical society in Shasta Lake . I have been volunteering with them for almost 4 years now and I have been given amazing opportunities. At the historical society we are currently in the process of building and designing a dam museum and I get the honor of being on the design committee, I'm also a member of the board of directors. I love all of the history in Shasta County from the gold rush, to the copper boom which left cities underneath Lake Shasta, to the depression era and the dam which was a major "works project" on the west coast. Interesting facts that I've found out well learning history and designing the museum was that the Oregon trail brought nearly 100,000 people to the West Coast, while the gold rush brought around 500,000 people to the West Coast but during the great depression the mass Exodus from the great plains brought over 2.3 million people to the West Coast. I get the honor of learning these stories and going through the pictures and the archives to design and put together these stories to tell other generations about the history of Shasta County . I work closely with a group of old souls that we like to call the hystericals, these are more than stories to them they are honestly their memories most of them are from the great depression and they traveled across the country with their families to work on the dam shasta dam. Then on the flip side of that some of their stories are from what we call the Sacramento Canyon underneath Lake Shasta before Shasta Dam was built, there was a copper mining metropolitan area in northern California it had a few towns with Kennett being the largest and the population of about 10,000 people. Some of our hystericals used to reside in the Canon and their stories are equally as captivating as the great depression migration stories . We have been working hard on this museum for close to a year now designing it and coming up with the stories and how we want the layouts to be. The hystericals have been working hard on the historical society for about 17 years now preserving the history of their families who lived in Shasta County . In the summer of 2018 we hope to have a museum opened to the public it will be located on shasta dam boulevard in Shasta Lake City. I hope that we can pass down the stories and the heritage of past generations so that our generations can respect the hard work, determination and tenacity that it took to build this great nation.

What is determination?

To me determination is having the strength to keep going when you know you want to give up. Determination is seeing life as a journey and understanding that life comes with trials and tribulations. What does not kill you makes you stronger, I often have to tell myself the downtimes are blessings in disguise or is Garth Brooks would say "thank God for  unanswered prayers". Determination is doing the research and putting in the work. Determination is deciding to get up every time you fail and fall. Determination is setting goals and achieving your dreams, be selfish with your time Make your dreams happen. In Nashville I learned that "it happens all the time", if you put in the hard work and you have the dedication. Passion is another driving factor for determination, if you have the Passion to get to your goals, you will achieve them. Now remember success is defined differently by each person, you define your success. Hug the haters, don't let anybody get to you, you understand what you're doing, you understand why you're doing it, let the Passion, drive and determination achieve your dreams. And if you ever need a little more support think Fight Grind Repeat Mr. Bobby Bones taught me that montre and it's a good one,  never give up!
